Finish the 6 chapters
Every chapter rewards one outfit, so finishing the 6 main chapters plus Prologue puts roughly seven of the 108 cataloged skins on the board without any side work.

There are three main ways to add a costume to your collection in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight suits roster.
Every chapter rewards one outfit, so finishing the 6 main chapters plus Prologue puts roughly seven of the 108 cataloged skins on the board without any side work.
The Bat-Mite Shop sells a rotating, randomized stock of costumes for Studs in the Batcave and around Gotham.
The open-world layer: collectibles such as WayneTech caches, AR Trials, Wanted Posters and Riddler & Cluemaster puzzles each hide costume rewards, with a fourth bucket of suits gated behind external codes — physical LEGO set 76330, the Digital Deluxe pack, HBO Max promos, and the Mayhem Collection DLC due in September 2026.
Bat-Mite’s shop is the largest single source of outfits in the game and also the slowest if you brute-force it. Stock is random, prices per costume run roughly 30,000 to 55,000 Studs.
Buying every Bat-Mite skin end-to-end is estimated at around 1,005,000 Studs total — that figure comes from one tracker (GameRant), so treat it as a working budget rather than a confirmed number.
Stack stud multipliers before you grind: the Red Bricks page lists which palettes affect economy, and pairing them with high-density combat districts cuts the grind by hours rather than minutes.
For the shortest path to a full outfit shelf, run the unlocks in the order they pay you back per minute played.
Each of the 6 main chapters plus Prologue drops a guaranteed costume reward across the 7 playable characters, and the missions double as the cheapest tutorial for traversal upgrades you’ll need later.
Clear AR Trials and Wanted Posters in clustered batches by district — both unlock 2-3 skins each in a sitting and feed your Stud bank for step four.
Sweep WayneTech caches via free-roam using the collectibles hub as your district checklist.
Spam-refresh the Bat-Mite Shop for the random rares.
Redeem the external code tier — scan the LEGO 76330 QR for the Golden Knight (the single rarest entry), then claim HBO Max and Digital Deluxe rewards before they expire.
Save the Golden Knight scan for last; it doesn’t care what order you collect the other 107 in.
The external-code tier is the one batch you cannot grind into mid-game, so plan it before you start hunting. Four channels feed it:
None of these costumes appear in the Bat-Mite Shop or as collectible drops, so completionists chasing a clean 108 should redeem each code on day one — promo windows close, retail sets sell through, and a missed QR scan can leave a permanent hole in the suits roster.
Common questions about outfits in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight — answered using multi-source community data where available, with single-source claims flagged inline.
Destructoid documents 108 outfits — Batman 35, Robin 12, Jim Gordon 11, Batgirl 11, Catwoman 11, Nightwing 10, Talia 10, plus 8 DLC variants. Counts vary by source — some community guides report up to 140+ counting all colour variants; we use Destructoid's 108-suit catalogue as our baseline.
Press Start (or Options), press R1/RB to open Characters, press Square/X to access Suit Options, then select any unlocked suit. You can also use the Suit Vault terminal in the Batcave.
The Golden Knight Batman suit is locked behind the physical LEGO Batman Logo set (product number 76330). Scan the QR code included with the set to redeem it in-game. There is no in-game-only path to this suit, which makes it the rarest outfit in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight.
Complete Chapter 1's mission "The Red Hood Gang" — Batman '89 is the mission-completion reward. If you skip it, the suit unlocks automatically at the start of Chapter 2.
Most suits are cosmetic and freely interchangeable from the Suit Vault. A handful of character-specific suits unlock signature gadgets or alter movement (per community guides), but the vast majority change appearance only.
Combine mission-completion rewards (one Batman suit per main story chapter), Bat-Mite Shop random purchases (estimated total cost ~1,005,000 Studs to buy out per community sources), WayneTech cache unlocks, AR Trial completions, and Wanted Poster rewards. Some Batman suits are locked behind external codes (Deluxe Edition, HBO Max link, LEGO 76330 QR).
The Mayhem Collection DLC adds Joker and Harley Quinn as playable characters with their own outfit lines, releasing in September 2026. Pre-orders include the Mayhem pack.
Bat-Mite Store is a costume shop that appears in the Batcave and throughout Gotham City. It sells a rotating random selection of outfits for Studs (typically 30,000 – 55,000 per outfit). Leave and re-enter the store to refresh its stock.
