All Playable Characters in LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight

Batman is permanently Player 1 across every chapter. His Batarang stuns multiple enemies at once and triggers distant switches, while the Batclaw doubles as a grapple hook for high anchors. He sets the baseline for traversal — every gap, terminal, and grapple point the other heroes unlock builds on what he can already do.

Jim Gordon joins as Player 2 the moment Bruce dons the cowl. His Foam Sprayer gunks up leaking pipes that gate environmental hazards, and the Rebound Launcher fires bouncing projectiles that bend around corners to hit switches Batman cannot line up. He is the only hero who solves foam-pipe puzzles, making him essential for several mission red bricks.

Catwoman is the cat-vent specialist: her Call Kitty summons a feline ally that crawls through grates Batman cannot fit through, opening shortcuts and grabbing collectibles. Her Whip spins industrial screws and rips loose Lego bricks. She also wall-climbs purple gecko panels, doubling Robin's later acrobatic options.

Robin's Birdarang is a triple-strike ranged weapon that hits up to three enemies at once, useful for clearing crowded encounters faster than Batman's single-target Batarang. His Cable Launcher mirrors the Batclaw's grapple-hook function but reaches different acrobatic-class anchor points, opening alt routes through chapter levels.

Batgirl is the hack specialist: her Hackarang locks onto yellow keypad terminals at range, opening doors and disabling alarms no one else can. Her Drone flies to distant out-of-reach switches that even the grapple gadgets cannot touch, making her the only hero who solves drone-recon puzzles.

Nightwing joins late in Chapter 4 without retiring Robin — both remain in the roster, and Nightwing can perform every Robin interaction plus dual-stick combat with his Eskrima Sticks. Treat him as Robin's flexible alternate when the roster screen is crowded, especially for Free Play replays where Robin is already in use elsewhere.

Talia al Ghul is the only stealth-class hero. Her Ninja Dash teleports her short distances forward, reaching ledges no acrobatic combo can reach, and her Blowdarts sedate guards from cover without alerting the rest. She rounds out the roster as the toolkit for stealth-darts puzzles and silent traversal segments late in the campaign.
